Official Selection at Aesthetica Film Festival

7 Oct 2025

Selected as one of only eight narrative features at this year’s Aesthetica Film Festival, a major milestone for the world’s first solo-made feature film.

Disremember has been officially selected for the Aesthetica Film Festival this November, one of the UK’s most prestigious BAFTA and BIFA-qualifying festivals.

Only eight narrative features were selected this year, making this a major milestone for Disremember and its creator, Matthew Simpson. The selection marks another breakthrough for the world’s first solo-made feature film, created entirely by one person without any crew or cast.

Aesthetica is recognised as one of the UK’s leading festivals for discovering innovative voices in independent cinema. Its programme showcases visionary storytelling and boundary-pushing work from around the world, making Disremember’s inclusion a significant honour and testament to its growing impact.

This selection follows Disremember’s double win at the BIFA-qualifying Unrestricted View Film Festival, where it received Best UK Feature and Best Actor for Simpson.
